When Law and Technology Institute students graduate, they join the Institute’s over 1,000 graduates in an accomplished and active alumni network, the Law and Technology Alumni Association (LTIAA). Many LTIAA members hold high-level positions in government and industry, as well as partnership in highly regarded communications law firms. Recent graduates are following in their footsteps.

The LTIAA hosts several receptions throughout the year to build connections among its members, as well as current students in the LTI program.

The "Pay It Forward" Award

The Pay It Forward Award, formally established in 2015, is the LTIAA's highest recognition. Presented annually, it honors an alumnus or alumna who exemplifies the spirit of the Institute through outstanding service, mentorship, and dedication to the broader LTIAA community and the field of communications law and policy.

The tradition of gathering Institute alumni in a spirit of generosity and mutual support predates the award itself. Beginning in the early 2010s, Bryan N. Tramont, Managing Partner of Wilkinson Barker Knauer, LLP and a longtime adjunct professor at Catholic Law, hosted annual alumni evenings at his home to welcome new graduates, raise funds for the Harvey L. Zuckman Scholarship, and reinforce the "pay it forward" ethic at the heart of the Institute's culture. The first formal award was presented in 2016 to Julie M. Kearney '98.
