Law students at Catholic LawCatholic Law recently hosted a panel discussion on "Diverse Voices in Law," sponsored by the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association (APALSA), Black Law Students Association (BLSA), Latin American Law Students Association (LALSA), and Middle Eastern Law Students Association (MELSBA). Moderated by Albert Anaim, a 3L, the panelists shared insights on supporting their communities, standing out in the hiring process beyond grades, and the value of mentorship. They emphasized the importance of being flexible, willing to take on challenges, and maintaining a strong work ethic. Mentorship, they noted, can come from within or outside one’s community and is about finding someone whose career path aligns with your goals.

They shared practical examples, such as how evening students working in government could benefit from connecting with alumni who have balanced similar responsibilities. The event, with introductions by the presidents of the sponsoring organizations, provided students with valuable advice and perspectives as they prepare for their legal careers.
