Catholic Law's Law and Entrepreneurship Program (LEP) recently welcomed Jack Kerrigan, co-founder and Managing Partner of Razor’s Edge Ventures, for an engaging discussion on his career journey and the qualities that define a successful entrepreneur. Moderated by Professor Alexander Hoffarth, Director of LEP, the event delved into Kerrigan’s experiences in the venture capital and technology sectors. When asked about the most valuable lesson he gained from law school, Kerrigan highlighted the importance of analytical thinking, a skill he credits with helping him evaluate new opportunities and learn from past challenges. The event drew students from both Catholic Law and the University’s Busch School of Business and was co-sponsored by the Arthur & Carlyse Ciocca Center for Principled Entrepreneurship and the Law & Entrepreneurship Association.

“The new collaboration with the LEP is giving aspiring Catholic University student entrepreneurs an incredible opportunity to learn critical aspects of law that pertain to their businesses,” said W. Brian Walsh, Director of VentureLab@CatholicU. Students in attendance echoed this sentiment, with Matt McDougal sharing, “As a law student interested in the intersection of law and entrepreneurship, it is invaluable to hear how great entrepreneurs took their law degree and leveraged what they learned to form successful businesses.” This partnership underscores the importance of equipping students with the legal and entrepreneurial tools needed to navigate the complexities of launching and managing successful ventures.
