We are thrilled to announce that this Saturday, March 14, Catholic Law's Professor J. Joel Alicea, Director of the Center for the Constitution and the Catholic Intellectual Tradition (CIT), received the Joseph Story Award at the Federalist Society’s Annual National Student Symposium.
The Joseph Story Award is given each year to a young academic (40 and under or 10 years on the tenure track or fewer) who has demonstrated excellence in legal scholarship, a commitment to teaching, a concern for students, and who has made significant public impact in a manner that advances the rule of law in a free society.
Previous recipients include Jud Campbell (Stanford Law), Aditya Bamzai (University of Virginia School of Law), and CIT Affiliated Fellow and fellow Catholic Law Prof. Jennifer Mascott, who is now serving as a Judge for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
In a tribute video featuring Catholic Law Dean Stephen C. Payne, Dean Payne remarked, “Joel has had a tremendous impact on our school, I would go so far as to say a transformative impact.”
