Professor Mark Rienzi of Catholic Law, who also serves as the president of the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty, was quoted in a New York Post article titled, "UCLA to pay $6M to settle discrimination complaints including campus ‘Jew Exclusion Zone’."

The article discusses the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) agreeing to pay over $6 million in 2024 to settle discrimination complaints filed by Jewish faculty and students. The complaints stemmed from incidents of antisemitism on campus, including allowing protesters to create a so-called “Jew Exclusion Zone” that restricted Jewish individuals from accessing parts of the campus. UCLA also agreed to entry of a permanent injunction prohibiting such behavior in the future.

The Becket Fund for Religious Liberty represented several plaintiffs in the case. Commenting on the matter, Professor Rienzi stated, “The plaintiffs brought this suit because they were victims of abhorrent and unimaginably bad antisemitism on a public university campus.”
