Robert B. Bundelman Jr. received his B.A. from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1959 and his J.D. from The Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law in 1962. Bundelman served in the N.J. National Guard (Military Police & Army Engineers) and United States Army Ready Reserve from 1954 to 1962, receiving an Honorable Discharge in 1962. Bundelman earned bar admission to the Supreme Court of New Jersey in 1963; United States District Court, District of New Jersey, in 1963; Supreme Court of New York, Second Judicial Department, in 1965; and United States Supreme Court in 1991.

Bundelman practiced law for over four decades. Beginning as a Staff Assistant to Senator Clifford P. Case from 1959 to 1962, Bundelman went on to serve as a law clerk at Pitney, Harden, and Kipp in Newark, New Jersey, and then as a law secretary to an Assignment Judge, Superior Court New Jersey. From 1964 to 1975, Bundelman worked as an associate at Bingham, Englar, Jones, and Houston in New York City before branching out to be a managing and founding partner for the firm’s London office. During that time, he was also a partner in the New York City Office. In 1985, Bundelman became Managing Partner at Sedgwick Deter Moran & Arnold in New York City, where he remained until his retirement in 2002.

Bundelman also has extensive civic experience and has served on multiple boards throughout his professional career. He was an elected Councilman for the Township of Washington in Bergen County, New Jersey, from 1968 to 1969 and served as Deputy Mayor in 1969. Additionally, Bundelman has previously served on the Board of Trustees for Fairleigh Dickinson University, on the Board of Visitors for Catholic Law, and as a Regent for Seton Hall University. He continues to serve as a trustee for the Brooklyn Diocesan Missionary House of Formation, Carmen Hernandez Center for Life Inc., and Seton Hall University. In 1989, Bundelman was named the recipient of Fairleigh Dickinson University’s Pinnacle Award.
