Because of Catholic Law’s unique mission of service, Catholic Law students are strongly encouraged to participate in the Catholic Law Pro Bono Program. The program seeks to help students develop the public service ethos they will need to thrive as future lawyers. As the school year draws to a close, the Law School evaluates the participation of all current students to date. Despite the unprecedented circumstances of the Spring 2020 semester, the Pro Bono Program is proud to boast increased annual participation statistics.

As of the end of this academic year, 34 percent of Catholic Law students have participated in the Pro Bono program during their time in law school. This participation totals to 16,973 collective hours served. Those in graduating Class of 2020 alone have made impressive contributions during their time at the Law School, with 61 percent class participation (a new Catholic Law record), amassing 11,094 service hours.

End-of-year statistics also allow the Law School to acknowledge the Pro Bono hours served by each individual across all years, with an average of 42.5 hours served. Each year, students are recognized for the hard work they have done. Those who serve 50, 100, and 150 or more hours by graduation formally achieve Pro Bono Honors recognition at commencement.
