The Center for Religious Liberty (CRL) at Catholic Law recently held a discussion titled "Making Sense of CPC Designation for Nigeria." The event featured Nina Shea, Senior Fellow and Director of the Hudson Institute's Center for Religious Freedom, alongside William Saunders, Co-Director of CRL and Director of the Program in Human Rights at the Institute for Human Ecology. Together, they examined issues relating to religious freedom and the factors that influence Nigeria's designation as a "Country of Particular Concern."
The discussion highlighted CRL’s mission to study and explain religious liberty as a fundamental human right for everyone. The Center approaches this work through a Catholic perspective, drawing on principles outlined in the United States Constitution, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and the Church's declaration, Dignitatis Humanae. By hosting such events, CRL aims to foster conversation and promote understanding of religious liberty.
