Juan Carlos Riofrio, International and Special Academic Program Manager and Lecturer at Catholic Law, was invited by the President of the Supreme Court of Colombia to address the country’s judiciary during the “28th Meeting of Ordinary Jurisdiction: Justice Is for All of Us.” The conference brought together the very leadership of the Colombian judiciary—the magistrates of the Supreme Court, the judges of the Higher Courts, and selected judges from across the nation. Its importance was underscored by the attendance of the President of Colombia on the opening day.
During the conference, Riofrio participated in a panel moderated by the President of the Supreme Court, where he presented on “The Right to Hope.” His lecture emphasized the need for a more human-centered approach to law, underscoring the role of justice in nurturing dignity and fostering hope.
Following the panel, Riofrio and the Supreme Court President were interviewed by the media on the theme of the right to hope, with the discussion broadcast on both radio and national television. The event was recorded and is available here in Spanish.
