LTIAA receptionOn Wednesday, June 4, the Law & Technology Institute Alumni Association (LTIAA) hosted its annual Pay It Forward Award Ceremony at Wiley in Washington, D.C. The event celebrated the achievements of the Law & Technology Institute's Class of 2025 graduates while honoring a member of the LTIAA community who exemplifies the spirit of mentorship and support for fellow alumni and students.

The evening began with a lively networking reception, bringing together past and present LTIAA members. LTIAA President Kaya DeRose '23, an Associate at Telecommunications Law Professionals PLLC, warmly welcomed attendees and set the tone for the ceremony. After gathering the attendees for a group photo, she introduced Kathleen Kirby '91, Partner at Wiley and President of the Federal Communications Bar Association, who delivered a heartfelt tribute to her former colleague and friend, Rosemary Harold.

Holloway, Harold, and KirbyHarold, recently retired as Chief of the FCC's Enforcement Bureau, was recognized for her exemplary years of public service. Beyond her impactful tenure at the FCC, Harold left an indelible mark at Catholic Law, where she spent 14 years as a dedicated educator, shaping the careers of countless LTI students. Former LTIAA President William Holloway '19, Counsel for the Broadband Data Task Force at the FCC, also reflected on Harold’s profound influence as both a teacher and mentor, highlighting the lasting legacy she has left within the community.

Gabriel Swain and SunnFollowing Harold’s recognition, DeRose announced Meagan Sunn '18, Of Counsel at Ice Miller LLP, as the recipient of the 2025 Pay It Forward Award. DeRose then invited Taliesin Gabriel Swain '18, Client Service Partner at Bloomberg, to share a few heartfelt words about Sunn. Swain highlighted Sunn's unwavering support for those she mentors and the invaluable guidance she has provided to her peers.

The ceremony concluded with continued conversations and connections during the reception, leaving attendees inspired by the evening’s celebrations of service, mentorship, and community.
