Sykes, Duncan, and MunizCatholic Law’s Project on Constitutional Originalism and the Catholic Intellectual Tradition (CIT) announced today the judges who will be participating in its Visiting Jurist Program during the 2023-2024 academic year: Chief Judge Diane S. Sykes of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, Judge Kyle Duncan of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and Chief Justice Carlos G. Muñiz of the Florida Supreme Court.

The Visiting Jurist Program brings some of the nation’s most respected judges to Catholic University’s campus to participate in the life of the Law School and the programming offered by CIT. During their stay at CUA, Visiting Jurists co-teach courses with CUA faculty, participate in CIT events, and enjoy meals with CUA faculty and students. Through the Visiting Jurist Program, CIT enhances its scholarly programming with the perspectives of leading jurists and provides opportunities for Catholic Law’s students to interact with some of the country’s best legal thinkers.

Professor Joel Alicea, co-director of CIT, said: “We are very honored that Chief Judge Sykes, Judge Duncan, and Chief Justice Muñiz have agreed to serve as Visiting Jurists this upcoming academic year. Our students—and the whole Law School community—will benefit tremendously from their insights and their presence on campus.”
