Katherine I. HeiseOn March 9, during the law school's spring recess, alumni and students of Catholic Law's evening division gathered for a networking event at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP in Washington, D.C. The event was hosted and sponsored by Catholic Law alumni who work at Akin in collaboration with the law school's Student Affairs and the Alumni & Development offices.

Stephen C. Payne, Dean and Knights of Columbus Professor of Law, provided welcome remarks giving a brief history of Catholic Law's evening program and its longstanding dedication to supporting students who balance the pursuit of a law degree with many other demands on their time. Katherine I. Heise '19, Associate at Akin also addressed the full room, commenting on her personal experience as a student in the evening program. Both Payne and Heise spoke of the strength of Catholic Law's evening division, the supportive faculty and administration that ensure evening students have opportunities to thrive, and the commitment that alumni of the program continue to bestow upon current students and each other.
