John SullivanOn March 4, 2023, The Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law's (Catholic Law) Moot Court Association hosted the Sixth Annual Ellen A. (Nell) Hennessy Employee Benefits Competition, co-sponsored by the American College of Employee Benefits Counsel (ACEBC). Teams competed before experienced judges and law practitioners and addressed current employee benefits issues. After check-ins, teams were welcomed to the first in person competition in two years by John Sullivan (3L), Vice-Chancellor of the Sixth Annual Nell Hennessy Moot Court Competition, and John Paliga, Member of the Appeals Board, Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation; Member, Gordon Feinblatt LLC; Adjunct Professor of Law, Georgetown University; and Treasurer, ACEBC.

JudgesAfter several hard-fought rounds, Grace Best and Betsy McMullen from Catholic Law went on to win over Dominic Mussoline and Matthew Soliman from Drexel University, Thomas R. Kline School of Law. It was an impressive day of competition. The judges for the final round were Ms. Denise Clark, The Honorable Mark Iwry, and The Honorable W. Thomas Reeder Jr.

The 7th Annual Ellen A. (Nell) Hennessy Employee Benefits Competition in 2024 will also be in conjunction with the 50th Anniversary of ACEBC.
