CUA Law Professor Mary Leary spoke on a panel hosted by The R St. Institute and Tech Freedom on Sept. 7, 2017. The panel discussed the pending legislation to amend section 230 of the Communications Decency Act.

Professor Leary discussed the current state of the law regarding human trafficking and the immunity that the Communication Decency Act has unintentionally provided companies, such as Backpage.com.

Professor Leary is a national expert on this topic, having recently published op-eds for the Washington Post, The Hill, and filed an amicus brief in the Supreme Court on this issue.
