Evening Law Student and Alumni Event Highlights the Connected Community at CUA Law

The Columbus School of Law held its annual Evening Law Student and Alumni Reception at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP in Washington, D.C., on March 2. A tradition that goes back eleven years, the reception is held during the Law School's spring recess to allow evening students on break from class an opportunity to more easily attend an alumni event. As with other events hosted by the CUA Law Alumni Association, the Evening Law Student and Alumni Reception brought together students, faculty, staff, and alumni and provided them an opportunity to network and connect with each other in a professional setting. This year the event was also open to students who have been accepted to the Law School's evening program for admission in August 2016.

During the event Katie Crowley '10, Director of Alumni Relations and former CUA Law evening student, greeted the group and introduced Stanley E. Woodward, Jr. '08, Counsel at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP and adjunct professor at CUA Law. Woodward stressed the uniquely strong community at CUA Law and noted that the hard work and commitment that the evening students put forth in order to be successful in the evening program translates very well into their careers and professional development beyond law school.
