Make a Difference: Volunteer with VITA

The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA) offers free tax preparation to lower-income persons, persons with disabilities, and persons with limited English. Volunteers are the core of our VITA program.

We need volunteers to serve as Tax Preparers. NO experience is required! WE will train and assist you every step of the way. Become a Volunteer and reap the benefits of a rewarding and meaningful way of giving back to your community.

Requirements: (all trainings, as well as tax preparation, will take place via Zoom) 

      • 8 hours of Zoom training on federal and state tax law.
      • 4 hours of Zoom training on the computer software to be used in preparing the returns.
      • Obtain an IRS Certification which we will train and prepare for you to take.

Students can earn pro bono hours for training and tax preparation but must actually complete tax returns to receive pro bono hours.
