  • Carl Hobbs currently serves as Senior Employment Counsel for the Housing and Urban Development Office of the Inspector General.  Carl has a wealth of experience in a multitude of disciplines, across multiple branches of government. Before returning to the Executive Branch, Carl served as Deputy Director/Attorney-Advisor of the Office of the Diversity, Inclusion and Dispute Resolution at the Architect of the Capitol.

    Carl served in the Air Force as a Biomedical Engineer before beginning his federal career in Human Resources at the Department of State. Thereafter, while working in Employee Relations and Policy for another Inspector General, Carl attended law school at the Catholic University Columbus School of Law, and thereafter worked in retirement appeals for the Office of Personnel Management, and then as a staff attorney for the Department of Commerce. Carl has a master’s degree in Human Resources Management from the University of Maryland Global Campus and a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

    In his spare time, Carl is an avid golfer and loves mentoring young law students. He and his wife Yvette live in Washington, D.C. and enjoy attending Washington Nationals games and boating.
