CUA Law E-newsletter - June 2015
Dean Designate Daniel F. Attridge
A letter from Dean Daniel F. Attridge:

Dear CUA Law Alumni, Family, and Friends,

Our 2014-15 academic year has come to a successful conclusion.  Having just completed their final examinations and papers, our students are looking forward to summer jobs or internships, some well-earned vacation time, and in the case of our newest graduates, preparation for bar examinations in their favorite jurisdictions.  Our faculty, after grading those final exams and papers, will refocus on their scholarship and other pursuits over the summer months.  In the meantime, we will all be getting ready for the upcoming fall semester beginning in mid-August with a new class of incoming day and evening students.  This is a brief report on what’s been happening and what’s coming up:

1.  Pope Francis at CUA.  We are thrilled by the announcement that Pope Francis will be coming to Catholic University’s campus this fall.  The Pope will be saying Mass outdoors on the east side of the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception on Wednesday, September 23.  Here's a link to more information about this historic visit to CUA:  It will be the third Papal visit to Catholic University.  No other university in the United States has hosted a Pontiff more than once.

Law Annual Fund

On behalf of the entire Law School we thank all of our alumni and friends for your generous donations to the Annual Fund. It is because of your support that we are able to provide an outstanding legal education to our students. This year, our Board of Visitors and our Alumni Council led by example and had 100% participation in giving for the year just ended. The graduating Class of 2015 exceeded its Class Gift goal, reaching 60% giving participation!

What the Law School accomplishes each year because of your continued investment is immense, and we are thankful in equal measure for the generosity of CUA Law’s alumni, donors and friends. We are achieving great things, and it’s thanks to you.
