CUA Law Alumnus, Chief Judge Robert E. Morin '77, was profiled in the May edititon of the Washington Lawyer magazine. The article "From Advocate for the Underserved to Chief Judge" discusses Morin's journey from a death row defense attorney, to chief judge of the D.C. Superior Court. Morin helped found the Southern Center for Human Rights in Atlanta in 1982. He also served in the Maryland Office of the Public Defender from 1984 to 1986. Morin was a partner at Fisher, Morin & Hansen, specializing in criminal defense and death penalty cases from 1986 to 1996, when he was nominated by President Clinton to serve on the D.C. Superior Court.
