CUA Law Alumnus Confirmed for a Federal Judgeship

Catholic University law school alumnus Joseph "Jay" Leeson Jr. was confirmed on Dec. 4 as a new judge on the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Pennsylvania.  Leeson, a member of the Class of 1980, was confirmed by a vote of 76-16 in the U.S. Senate.
Judge Leeson will serve in Allentown, one of five courthouse locations for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
The 59-year-old Leeson, a partner at Leeson & Leeson in Bethlehem since 1980, was nominated for the federal judgeship in June. His nomination was supported by both of Pennsylvania's U.S. senators, Bob Casey (CUA Law Class of 1988) and Pat Toomey.

Judge Leeson has two children enrolled at The Catholic University of America.  His daughter Patricia is a first-year law student, and his son Robert is a junior in the school of engineering.
