Catholic University law school students searching for educational and fulfilling professional placements for class credit enjoyed one of the widest selections ever at the CUA Law Spring Clinics and Externships Fair held on March 13.

More than fifty area employers staffed tables and provided representatives to interview students, answer their questions, and accept résumés for summer or fall placements.
Professor Lisa Lerman, coordinator of clinical programs for the law school, assembled an impressive array of government agencies, non-profit organizations, law firms, and corporations to meet with students and explore externship possibilities, which sometimes lead to fulltime employment after graduation.
Participating organizations offer students hands-on experience in many fascinating areas of legal practice including immigration, national security and terrorism, securities, corrections, and many more. Upwards of 20 departments or offices within the federal government were among the exhibitors during the two-hour fair.
The well-established externship program at the Columbus School of Law is among the most extensive in the nation and has historically offered students hundreds of professional work settings from which to choose.
