CUA Law E-newsletter - July 2015

Dean Designate Daniel F. Attridge
A letter from Dean Daniel F. Attridge:

Dear CUA Law Alumni, Family, and Friends,

This is the relatively quiet time in our academic cycle.  We’ve finished the 2014-15 academic year, and preparations are underway for the 2015-16 year.  Although some summer session classes are being held – on campus as well as in Poland – and our 2015 graduates are busy studying for the bar exam, most students are focused on their summer jobs while our faculty turn their attention to summer research and writing projects.  Hopefully, everyone will make some time for vacation (as I just did) before our busy schedule of classes resumes in mid-August.  This is a brief report on what’s been happening and what’s coming up:

1. CUA Law Annual Publications.  Our annual magazine for alumni and friends, called CUA Lawyer, has just been published.  It should be arriving in your mailbox soon (assuming that we have your current address on file).  Or, you may read it online by clicking here.  In CUA Lawyer, you will find interesting stories about some of our most notable alumni who are difference makers, the 20th anniversary of our Law School building, the signature speakers in our lecture series, our Supreme Court moot argument program, and other news about our remarkable faculty and accomplished  alumni.

New Publications from CUA Law: CUA Lawyer and The Honor Roll of Donors

Two CUA Law publications are now available online. This year, the Law School’s Honor Roll of Donors presents a list of alumni and friends who have supported CUA Law by sharing not only of their treasure, but also of their time and talent. For the first time, we are publicly recognizing our many volunteers who have given considerable time and expertise to the Law School through an array of programs. We thank all of our donors for your considerable investment of time, talent, and treasure.

The Summer 2015 edition of CUA Lawyer is also available online. In our feature story, Difference Makers, we are proud to describe the accomplishments of a few of our notable alumni — Michael J. Bidwill ’90, Paul M. Bisaro ’89, Alice S. Fisher ’92, Hon. Shireen Avis Fisher ’76, Daniel M. Gallagher Jr. ’99, Hon. Joseph Leeson Jr. ’90, Daniel T. Lennon ’90, J. Paul Molloy ’65, Hon. William T. Newman Jr. ’77, Hon. Eileen J. O’Connor ’78, and S. Jenell Trigg ’97 — as a way of underscoring the enduring value of a CUA Law education. We hope you enjoy the latest edition of our alumni magazine.
