On Tuesday, June 15, Archbishop Allen H. Vigneron, chair of the University Board of Trustees and the Presidential Search Committee, held a press conference to announce and introduce John H. Garvey, dean of Boston College School of Law, as the 15th president of The Catholic University of America. President Garvey has had a significant presence and influence in the greater law school community for many years, serving as dean at Boston College for the past 11 years. He is an expert in constitutional law, religious liberty and the First Amendment. He has held prominent positions in legal education including service as the president of the Association of American Law Schools from 2008 to 2009. President Garvey’s vision, experience and leadership will be of great benefit to the university and the Columbus School of Law.
