Interschool Competitions: Jessup Cup

The Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition is the world's largest appellate advocacy moot court competition, with participants from over 500 law schools in more than 80 countries, and the oldest moot court competition dedicated to international law. The Competition simulates a fictional dispute between countries arguing before the International Court of Justice, the judicial organ of the United Nations.

A team comprises of two pairs of participants; pairs represent either applicant or respondent. Each pair must submit a written brief and deliver oral arguments before a panel of practicing attorneys through various regional and national rounds of competition. In each regional competition, the two teams that win the semi-final rounds proceed to the White & Case International Rounds, where they will compete against other nations’ teams. Other various individual and team awards are available at the regional competition level.
