December Grads

I've Graduated. Now What?: Review our Post Graduation pages to help plan for and understand your repayment options and loan forgiveness opportunities. Our office also offers a one-on-one review of your loans. Feel free to make an appointment today (202-319-5143).

Spring 2009

Financial Aid: Financial Aid is still available for the 2008-2009 academic year. Just complete the 2008-2009 FAFSA at www.FAFSA.ed.gov and then contact our office via email (fin-aid@law.edu). Note: Our School Code is E00131.

Loan Disbursements: Loans disbursements will begin at the start of the Spring semester (early Jan.) and refunds are anticipated to be available beginning mid-January. You can monitor your financial aid disbursements online via your CUA Account Summary on Cardinal Station.

Refund Checks: First batch of refund checks are anticipated in mid January. Paper Refund Checks will now take about 5-7 business days to be generated after your funds have posted to your account and a refund has been calculated. However, if you have signed up for the Direct Deposit option, it will only take 2-3 days. To sign up, please review the CardinalPay information page or contact the Student Accounts Office (202-319-5036) directly.

May Grads: Review our May Grad Checklist as well as our Post Graduation info pages to help plan for and understand your repayment options and loan forgiveness opportunities.

Summer 2009

Summer Classes: Summer financial aid is available to those taking classes during the summer either at CUA or abroad. Forms will be available beginning in late February. Further information is available on our website at our website under Forms & Handouts.

Fall 2009

FAFSA Time: The 2009-2010 FAFSA will be available online at www.FAFSA.ed.gov beginning Jan 2, 2009. Although we strongly recommend that you complete the online form using your PIN, the paper version will also be available to download. Print and mail with signatures as soon as possible. Our School Code is E00131.

Scholarship Opportunities: Take a little time out of your day to check out opportunities for free money (a.k.a. scholarships). Our office has a collection of applications from various organizations looking to financially assist students like you. Check out our Outside Scholarship Information page or the Financial Aid section of CUA's weekly newsletter, HEADNOTES. Drop by our office for more information.
Veterans' Educational Benefits: Veterans and those eligible to receive veterans' educational benefits at CUA must contact the Office of the Registrar (Room 10 McMahon Hall) to initialize benefits with CUA. Students who have never received benefits must apply to the Department of Veterans Affairs via the VA website: www.gibill.va.gov to establish eligibility. Check out the CUA VA webpage for more information.
