The 1897 Society
The 1897 Society recognizes our most generous donors and is comprised of alumni, parents and friends who make an annual gift of $1,000 or more to the Columbus School of Law. (Graduates from the law school within the past five years may become an Associate Member of The 1897 Society with a gift of $250 or more.)
Through The 1897 Society, our most generous supporters are acknowledged for their involvement, commitment and loyalty to the law school. Society members graciously contribute to our Law School Annual Fund and many other specified programs. These financial resources assist the school in funding scholarships, faculty research library resources and IT enhancements and also support our clinics, institutes and special programs, as well as other areas of financial need.
Becoming a member of The 1897 Society offers the satisfaction of knowing that your generosity helps provide the resources needed to support our students and enhance our excellent academic program. It is a level of generosity that goes beyond simple gift giving and helps to establish a tradition of philanthropy at CUA law.
Opportunities are made available for Society members to become more active in the life of the law school through special events with the dean, recognition dinners, lectures by distinguished speakers and many other opportunities.
Any alumnus or friend can become a member of The 1897 Society. The only requirement is a commitment of $1000 for the year (May 1-April 30) ($250 for graduates within the past five years). The Society welcomes everyone who takes an active interest in the law school. Membership extends for the entire year and is open for renewal.
