This course will cover professional methodology (the “medical model” and the litigative process); compensation for professional fault (malpractice and other bases for claims); licensing, structure and performance of the medical professions and health care organizations, and aspects of medical science and public policy. When taught in two hours, the course will include a qualifying paper that fulfills one half of the upper-level writing requirement. Refer to Academic Rule X — Writing Requirement and Directed Research. When taught in three hours, the course will be exam only.
