This three-credit elective explores the political and philosophical aspects of the law making process. It is not a course in how a bill becomes law, but rather in how the current jurisprudential move ments inform law making by legislatures as well as by the judiciary. Particular attention is given to the law and economics, critical legal studies and communitarian movements in legal philosophy.
Upper-level course for:
I. Administrative and Legislative Law
V. Civil Rights and Civil Liberties
XXVI. Perspectives on Law and Legal Systems
