Evening Student Team Scores Highest in Recent Trial Competition

The 2009 Catholic University Columbus School of Law Intra-School Trial Competition was hosted by the Society of Trial Advocates the weekend of January 23-25. Forty-four students participated in teams of two attempting to both advance to the final rounds and compete for a spot on the National Trials Team.

Congratulations to the team of Jon Oates (4E) and Trista Speer (3E) for winning this year's competition, defeating Katie Cordova and Kate Collins in the final round. Also advancing to the semi-finals were the teams of Paul Casey and Brendan O'Shea and Nina Antony and Melissa Feldmeier. Oates earned the title of best overall advocate, receiving the highest individual scores in both preliminary rounds.
