Tom Haederle joined the law school staff in January 2002, bringing more than 20 years of journalistic and public affairs experience to the position. In addition to his public affairs duties, he has recently served on the CUA Presidential Task Force on Institutional Marketing.

In 2001, he was a full time media trainer and communications coach with Susan Peterson Productions, Inc. of Washington, D.C. From 1997-2001, Haederle was associate director of public affairs for the Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions in Baltimore, Md, where he also served as director, producer and host of Health Newsfeed, a nationally syndicated radio program on health and medical issues. The award-winning program reaches nearly 2,000 radio stations in the U.S., Europe and Asia.

From 1991-1996, Haederle served as a correspondent and producer for the CBS Radio Stations News Service in Washington, D.C., where he covered breaking national stories, interviewed lawmakers and hosted Crosstalk, a biweekly public affairs program distributed to CBS stations. From 1983-1991 he worked as a radio and television reporter for various Capitol Hill news bureaus, including Potomac Communications, Inc.

Haederle has also worked as a freelance video producer and voice talent. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in broadcast journalism from the Newhouse School of Public Communication at Syracuse University.
