The Catholic University of America
CUA Law Advantage Mentorship Program

Inspiring and Guiding the Next Generation of Lawyers

The Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law is proud to introduce the CUA Law Advantage Mentor Program. The program connects CUA law graduates with current students, acting as a source of assistance and counsel throughout the law school experience. Mentors may be called upon to share knowledge, provide real-world insight into the practice of law, guide mentees in defining or embracing future roles as lawyers, and serve as role models in dealing with clients, colleagues, the courts, and the community.

How it Works

Alumni mentors are matched with students, taking into consideration practice area, geographical preference, undergraduate institution, or other like interests or affiliations. Mentors and mentees will be matched in the spring semester of the mentees’ 1L year. Mentors are asked to connect with their mentees soon after their matches are confirmed. The pairs should meet quarterly either in person, by phone, or electronically (email/Skpe).

Mentors remain committed to mentees throughout the duration of the student’s time at CUA Law. After the first year mentoring relationship develops, mentors and mentees are encouraged to structure the relationship with the flexibility needed to meet the demands of each other’s schedules, yet remaining committed to assisting and guiding students as necessary.

Become a Mentor

To volunteer to be a mentor, simply complete the form below.

We will do our best to appropriately pair mentors to mentees. Due to student demand, we cannot guarantee every volunteer will be paired. At the end of the matching process, the volunteers who were not paired will be contacted with other opportunites to support students. If you have questions, please contact the Office of Development and Alumni Relations at 202-319-5670 or
