A Preview of Next Semester
The Columbus School of Law will be closed for Christmas break from Dec. 23-Jan. 3. We are grateful for the opportunity afforded our hardworking students, faculty and staff members to spend some relaxing time with their families and friends.
Meanwhile, we do have many exciting alumni-related events already planned for next semester. Just a sample:
Inaugural Year Event: Faith and Intellectual Life – A Faculty Roundtable
4:15 p.m. Great Room B, Pryzbyla Center
President John Garvey will host a faculty roundtable “What Faith Has to Do with Intellectual Life” as the first scheduled event in the series of inaugural year activities. President Garvey will introduce the panel, which includes Lucia Silecchia, professor of law at the Columbus School of Law.
Professor David Lipton’s lunch with more than 20 CUA Law alumni currently working at FINRA. Location: FINRA headquarters, 1735 K Street NW, D.C.
National Telecommunications Moot Court Competition
CUA Law at the National Press Club: Opening Space for Civil Society in China: Can the “Soft” Power of the U.S. Help? Coordinated by Professor Karla Simon, this program will examine the rise of non-profits and NGOs in China, their relationship to the Chinese government and their growing philanthropic role in society.
