Students are strongly encouraged to apply to the Institute concurrently with their application to the law school, as LTI is limited in size, and a class may fill before the beginning of the academic year. Each application is reviewed by the directors of the Institute and admission to the Institute is made on a rolling basis. Applicants are notified of their status by mail.
The Institute's policy is to provide a quality educational experience for each student. This can be achieved best by limiting enrollment to ensure small classes and a favorable student-instructor ratio. Therefore, the Institute accepts no more than 25 students each year. In the event that space remains open in a class at the beginning of the academic year, students may apply to the Institute during their first or second year, provided they can complete the certificate requirements.
A link to the application for admission to the Law & Technology Institute is provided here. An application may also be obtained by contacting the Office of Institutes and Special Programs at Institutes@law.edu or by phone at 202-319-6081.
There are no additional fees associated with applying to or participating in the Law & Technology Institute.
