Donor Advised Funds: Charitable Spending Vehicles for 21st Century Philanthropy

On April 4-5, 2016, Professor Roger Colinvaux attended an invitation only conference at Stanford University in Palo, Alto, CA. The conference, Giving in Time: Perpetuities, Limited Life, and the Responsibility of Philanthropy to the Present and the Future, was designed to develop scholarship that will benefit the public discourse surrounding the issues of philanthropy and time. Following the conference, Professor Colinvaux traveled to Harvard Law School to present his paper "Donor Advised Funds: Charitable Spending Vehicles for 21st Century Philanthropy," to a Tax Policy Seminar. Both the conference and the paper dealt with the question of how best to allocate charitable dollars for present or future needs.
