Catholic University law school’s Journal of Contemporary Health Law & Policy has promoted three staff associates to the position of editor. The group’s expanded duties will commence with the publication of Volume XXX, Issue II, the journal’s 30th anniversary issue to be published this year.

The promotions were announced by Brian Farnkoff, the journal’s editor-in-chief and a J.D. candidate for the class of 2014.

Francisco Lopez (2D) will serve as Note and Comment Editor (“Red Ink”). In this capacity, Lopez will help to review the staff’s edits of submitted Articles and Notes, and submit them in turn to the Senior Lead Articles Editor and Senior Note and Comment Editor.

“Francisco has consistently distinguished himself for his love and talent for editing throughout the fall semester, and I have every confidence in his ability to assume this new role with ease,” said Farnkoff.

Brandon Braithwaite (2D) and Carla Weaver (3E) will serve as Associate Editors of Volume XXX. They are responsible for conducting edits and source boxes, and will also handle special assignments as necessary.

“They have both distinguished themselves from the rest of the staff for their editing skills, were on time with every assignment, and have served as role models to the staff,” Farnkoff noted.

Membership on the staff of the Journal of Contemporary Health Law & Policy is the result of a selection process based on a 1L writing competition each year.
