Alexandra Dapolito Dunn was named the new executive director and general counsel of The Environmental Council of the States (ECOS) in February, 2014.  Dunn brings two decades of environmental law, policy, and management experience to ECOS, most recently serving as executive director and general counsel of the Association of Clean Water Administrators.

Dunn is a 1994 graduate of The Catholic University of America’s Columbus School of Law and also serves as an adjunct instructor for the law school.

The ECOS is the national non-profit, non-partisan association of state and territorial environmental commissioners. The group works to ensure that the state and territorial agency perspectives are clearly articulated, particularly as co-regulators with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

In addition to her J.D. from CUA Law, Dunn holds a B.A., cum laude, in Political Science from James Madison University. She is a member of the bars of New York, the District of Columbia, Maryland, the U.S. Supreme Court, and federal courts.
