One of the Nation’s Most Distinguished Attorneys is
Commencement Speaker for Law School Class of 2013

 

Washington, D.C. – William T. (Bill) Robinson III will offer commencement remarks to the Columbus School of Law’s graduating Class of 2013, it was announced on April 8 by John Garvey, president of The Catholic University of America.
 
Robinson is among the country’s most experienced, versatile, and recognized legal practitioners. He has just finished a term as president of the American Bar Association.  An ABA member since 1972, Robinson has been active in the association for more than 25 years in various leadership roles, including three years as ABA treasurer and eight years on the ABA Board of Governors.
 
Robinson is member-in-charge of the Northern Kentucky offices of Frost Brown Todd LLC, a regional law firm with offices in Kentucky, Ohio, Tennessee, West Virginia, and Indiana.  He has focused primarily on civil litigation at the trial and appellate levels for over 40 years, with extensive experience in commercial litigation, class actions, product liability defense, environmental litigation and medical malpractice defense.
 
“It’s no rhetorical flourish to say that when Bill Robinson speaks, our students will hear the voice of experience.” said President Garvey. “Bill embodies the best of the legal profession. He is a man of integrity, conviction, and high principles, and I don’t know of a better commencement speaker to remind the class of why they are drawn to the law in the first place.”
 
Robinson is a fellow of the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers and holds bar memberships in Ohio, Kentucky, and Tennessee. He is admitted to practice before seven courts, including U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces, and the U.S. Supreme Court.
 
He is a founding board member of the Appellate Judges Education Institute at Southern Methodist University; a fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America, and a fellow of the International Society of Barristers, among other distinctions.  The recipient of more than 30 civic and professional recognitions over the course of his career, Robinson has been named to the list of “Best Lawyers in America®” every year since 1997.
 
Robinson is a graduate of Thomas More College and the University of Kentucky College of Law, where in 2004 he was inducted into the Alumni Hall of Fame.
 
The 124th commencement ceremony of The Catholic University of America’s Columbus School of Law will be held on Friday, May 24, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C.
