Dr. Stephanie Seidman, 1985, Profiled in the San Diego Source

The unusual combination of legal and scientific skills possessed by Catholic University law school alumna Dr. Stephanie Seidman, 1985, was the subject of an admiring profile in the Oct. 25 edition of the Daily Transcript, published online by the San Diego Source.
The article, “McKenna Long Aldridge's Stephanie L. Seidman, Ph.D.: Working hard, hiring smart people key to success,” focused on what Seidman offers her firm’s clients with both a law degree and a Ph.D. in molecular biology/biochemistry.
Seidman spent three-and-a-half years as a patent examiner after law school, and then moved to the West Coast in 1991 to connect to San Diego's burgeoning biotech industry.
Seidman has nearly three decades of experience providing strategic counseling on the development and commercialization of patent portfolios for the bio-pharmaceutical industry.
At McKenna Long & Aldridge, she heads a team of a dozen Ph.D.s whose work supports the firm’s large patent practice.
Clients include San Diego companies with technologies including protein therapeutics, antibodies, viral therapeutics, diagnostics, and pharmaceuticals.
The article quotes Seidman on the secret of her success: "I work a lot," she said with a chuckle. "I work a lot and I hire a lot of smart people."
