Alumnus Jerome Perez to Oversee BLM Office in Pacific Northwest

Catholic University law school alumnus Jerome E. Perez, Class of 2005, has been selected by the United States Bureau of Land Management as director of the office that oversees the agency’s operations in Oregon and Washington.

Perez, a veteran with 20 years of natural resources management experience, currently serves as the deputy regional forester for the U.S. Forest Service’s Intermountain Region in Utah, where he shares management responsibility for tens of millions of acres of National Forests spread through five states.
Earlier in his career, the New York State native served as a Brookings Institution Fellow in the United States Senate and with the Peace Corps in Ghana.
No start date has been set for his new position. Perez and his wife Rita intend to reside in Portland, Oregon.
