Bloomberg BNA Releases 6th Edition of Treatise
Edited by Law School Adjunct Professor

Bloomberg BNA has published the sixth edition of “The Developing Labor Law: The Board, the Courts, and the National Labor Relations Act,” which offers analysis of the latest decisions that will affect labor law practitioners.

The editor-in-chief of the authoritative labor law volume is John E. Higgins, Jr., a longtime Distinguished Lecturer at the Columbus School of Law. Higgins (shown above moderating a conference at CUA law in March 2012) is retired from the National Labor Relations Board, the independent federal agency which administers the National Labor Relations Act, the nation's principal labor law enforcer.

The legal treatise has been a benchmark legal text for practitioners for more than 40 years. Written by members of the ABA Section of Labor and Employment Law, the two-volume treatise is an essential research tool for labor and employment law practitioners. The new edition includes updated discussion of dozens of important topics and the latest cases in the area of labor law.

Higgins was appointed by President Clinton as a member of the National Labor Relations Board, where he had worked since 1964 in numerous positions.

Higgins also served as the public co-chair of the American Bar Association's Committee on the Development of the Law under the National Labor Relations Act, and as vice president for professional development at the Association of Labor Relations Agencies.
