Abundant Choices for Students at Fall Clinics and Externships Fair

Many different legal practice areas were represented at the Columbus School of Law’s Fall Clinics and Externships Fair, held on Nov. 13 in the law school’s atrium.

Forty-four externship providers were on hand to meet with students, accept résumés and answer questions about the benefits of a legal externship with their organization.  
First-year law students were strongly urged to attend as representatives recruited externs for the spring and summer of 2013. Approximately 120 students were present during the two-hour session.
Externships – on site practical work opportunities for class credit that are supervised by legal professionals – are a highly attractive arrangement for both student and employer. Students receive hands-on experience and the opportunity to make professional connections that often lead to postgraduate job offers. Employers receive talented and motivated assistance at little or no cost.
As in past years, students had a wide selection of potential externship opportunities to explore. A partial list of representative externship providers included:
