Employment Rate for 2012 Securities Law Certificate Grads is 100 Percent
Three months after leaving the Columbus School of Law as certificate graduates of its Securities Law Program, all seven students from the Class of 2012 have landed full time employment within their chosen field.
Professor David Lipton, director of the Securities Law Program at Catholic University, confirmed the good news on Aug. 24.
“I am very proud of our students, of our securities law instructors, our alumni and our law school,” said Lipton, who noted that the current economic climate makes the achievement all the more significant.
The recently hired alumni include Robert Rhatigan (Dechert LLP), Michelle Curth (WilmerHale), and Alexandra Dawn Lizarraga (federal judicial clerkship).
In addition, Patrick Bloomstine, Christopher Curran and Kevin Link are now with FINRA (a frequent employer of Securities Program alumni), and Justin Nazari is working for the Financial Services Institute.
As do the majority of his law school faculty colleagues, Professor Lipton lends a personal hand in helping his students to secure post-graduate employment. That level of involvement may be one reason that CUA Law’s Class of 2011 has an overall employment rate of 86 percent, a number that exceeds that of some higher-ranked area law schools.
The law school’s Office of Career and Professional Development was also very active on behalf of the Securities Law Program graduates, and Lipton credits its effort as well for the success of the 2012 placement record.
